After a dinner together with your fellow FAM-goers and a restful night in a Downtown hotel, you'll wake up and eat a power breakfast before heading to Pier 11 to sail away to a day of surfing in the Rockaway Beach area of Queens. Hosted by the Black Surfer Association founder Lou Harris, experience a surfing lesson—no prior surfing experience necessary. You'll have lunch at the beach, followed by a ferry ride back to Lower Manhattan, dinner at a local Black-owned restaurant, and a sound sleep at your Downtown hotel.

We'll gather together to permanently commemorate the ticker tape parade honoring the New York Liberty’s 2024 WNBA championship and unveil a granite plaque that will reside in front of 250 Broadway (between Park Place and Murray Street). Last year’s ticker tape parade for the Liberty was the first time a women's sports team from New York had a parade held in its honor (it was the 209th ticker tape parade in New York history).
In attendance will be Ellie the Elephant, the Liberty's beloved mascot. Ellie is more than just a mascot – she's an icon and has become a part of NYC pop culture. Photographer: Akemi Rico is a photographer based in Los Angeles who is always drawn to travel, especially the kind of slow, in-depth, wandering travel that comes with having a one-way ticket and a loose itinerary. She is a lifelong adventurer who has done solo trips throughout India, China, Japan, Brazil, Mexico, and most of Southeast Asia. Her favorite things about travel include learning about the culture of people living in ways completely different from what is known and familiar. She is also a doctor of physical therapy and advocate for health in mind, body, and spirit. Being a part of Wanderful has expanded her network and put her in touch with many other amazing people who also “get it” about travel.

With over a decade of experience working with both international and domestic brands, Megan has seen firsthand how content creators are increasingly asked to provide photography without fair compensation. This session will help change that by teaching you how to recognize the value of your work and ensure you’re paid appropriately. You’ll learn how to approach brands about licensing your photography, create content that is desirable for licensing, and price your work accurately. You’ll also gain insight into navigating contracts, identifying potentially exploitative terms, and asking for necessary revisions. Additionally, we’ll discuss how to protect your images from unauthorized use and the tools that can help you safeguard your work. Enjoy general admission to the Statue of Liberty (grounds only) and Ellis Island! While in Downtown NYC, visit the most Iconic lady of all: Lady Liberty. Head to Castle Clinton with your ticket on the Statue Cruises ferry, which includes access to both Liberty Island and Ellis Island. Your ticket also gets you access to the Statue of Liberty Museum and the Ellis Island National Museum of Immigration, where you can make a rubbing of an immigrant's name on a wall to commemorate someone in your family.
