We’re Leaving Out Disabled Travelers: Why This Matters, What Real Inclusion Looks Like, & What You Can Do Today: “We don’t have an aisle chair on this plane. Why didn’t you wear a diaper?” “You can’t sit in an aisle seat if you’re disabled. It’s airline policy.” It’s a very different experience for disabled travelers compared to nondisabled travelers. Travel often currently leaves out disabled travelers. As the travel industry and creators aim to improve their DEI efforts, disability needs to be prioritized within these conversations. Disability is the largest minority group, with over 1 billion disabled people worldwide. Join this session to learn more about the current state of disability and travel. The session will discuss what inclusive and accessible travel looks like. You’ll learn immediate concrete actions each person can take to make travel more inclusive and accessible for all, including recommendations for experience providers, travel brands, creators, and media.
